When contractors call me

KNX work arrives in lumps. Keeping a full-time programmer busy between jobs rarely makes sense — bringing one in for the days you need does. I'm happy to work with any electrician or integrator, and I don't compete for your wiring.

Your client wants KNX or a smart home, and you need help to design and quote it.
You've won a job with KNX in the spec, but nobody on the team runs ETS.
Your own programmer is booked solid and the client moves in next month.
The client wants changes after handover and it isn't worth a day's travel.
You've inherited a site with no project file and a client who wants it fixed.

Tidy, labelled, documented

Whether I build the KNX panel or programme one your team has built, the next person to open it — your engineer, or me in two years — should understand it in minutes.

  • Devices labelled, with contact details for support
  • Wiring loomed and routed so it can be traced
  • Settings documented for whoever works on it next
  • Project file handed over at the end

What I do for you

What I can take off your plate

Design and quoting support

I help you spec the system, produce the device schedule and quote, so you can win the job.

Programming from your documents

I build the ETS project from your drawings, device schedule and lighting design, and send it back for a check before site.

KNX programming →

On-site commissioning

Download, test and commission alongside your electricians, working through snags on the day.

KNX panel builds

KNX distribution boards and enclosures built, wired and labelled to your drawings, ready for commissioning.

Panel builds →

Lighting scenes & logic

Scenes, presence, timers and keypad layouts agreed with you or your client, then tested room by room.

Remote support for your sites

Small changes and fault-finding without a site visit. Remote sessions by arrangement.

Remote support →

Existing & inherited systems

Audits of other people's projects, and rebuilds where the original file is missing and devices allow.

Handover documentation

Project archive, group address and device lists, scene schedule and commissioning notes — in your format if you prefer.

Networks, CCTV, door entry & AV

If the job needs them, I can also set up and commission the Wi-Fi, cameras, door entry and audio/video. Your team does the cabling.

Beyond ETS

A local AI home controller, in development; ZeroCore, a local-first home battery controller (GivEnergy and SigEnergy) from Smartek, with sales coming soon; and beta testing of Faradite KNX products. Useful when your job involves AI or voice control, app integrations or newer devices. More about me

How we work together

Working terms, kept simple

Your brand, your install

I can work as part of your team, under your company name. I don't quote for your wiring or installation work.

Scoped before booked

A short call, then a scope and quote, so everyone knows what's included.

Flexible bookings

On-site days and half days, plus remote sessions by arrangement.

Trade rates

Trade rates for electricians and integrators are available on request.

Documentation

The project file and documentation are handed over at the end of the job.

After handover

Small changes after handover can often be done remotely, without another site visit.

Remote support

Remote support for your sites

Many changes don't need a site visit.

With a KNX IP interface or router on site and remote access agreed with the client, I can make changes, check traffic with the bus monitor and fault-find remotely.

What helps me quote quickly

  • Drawings and device schedule (or panel schedule if installed)
  • Lighting design intent and scene requirements
  • Which ETS version the project uses and who holds the licence
  • Site contact, access and programme dates
  • For existing systems: any project file, passwords and documents

FAQ

Common questions

Do you do the install?

No. The wiring and installation stay with you, and I happily work with any electrician or integrator. I'm your commissioning partner for KNX, networks, CCTV, door entry and AV, and I can build the KNX panel if that helps. Just say what you need.

Which manufacturers?

KNX is multi-vendor and the ETS workflow is the same across manufacturers. Tell me what's specified when you get in touch.

Can you work from an existing project?

Yes. I'll review it first and flag anything that will cost time on site.

Do you publish rates?

Trade rates are sent on request so they can reflect the size of the job and repeat work.
